New friend

My Jas is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad about that XD

This is something my friend told me. I wanna share it with u guys.
"A friend is someone you can just enjoy a conversation with. You don’t really need to obligate yourself with these people, because they’re likely to betray you at one point. A budday will not do that, for they know that they will always unconditionally love you no matter what happens. Buddays take into consideration that their buddays mean a lot to them. They’re loyal, they’re trustworthy, and they’ll always be by your side. You probably are thinking, “What about best friends? Aren’t they the same?” No they’re not.. best friends…you can trust them a bit more than friends, but they too can betray you at one point or another. Buddays always will trust you, and if they notice something wrong, they won’t back down and just leave you alone, they will either guide you to what’s right, or comfort you to the best of their abilities. The difference is the unconditional love they have for their peers…they treat them as if they were family. Buddy never betrays..."

Okay, so I guess Jas is my BEST BUDDY! LOL
Scarlett, Vicky, Fiona, Joanna... you guys are my buddies too!! LOL
Love you guys!

Here you go, chapter 3.

Chapter 3

October 2008

Clicking into Serena’s blog was like a routine to Sam ever since they broke up. Serena always posted things about her, she did not know why but almost every day she would update her blog. Knowing that, Sam went to her blog everyday. He did not mind leaving any footprint there, knowing Serena checked that everyday, he still did. He somehow wanted Serena to know that he still cared. Let alone he knew how that would hurt her.

Serena’s Blog

A whole new start. But it felt weird. I’m no excited at all. This year will be no difference. Friends maybe the same but the bonding between had broken. I am invisible again this year. Without it here, everything just felt so unreal, there seems to have nothing to prove that was true.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Sam whispered, staring at the computer screen. He missed talking to Serena. He picked up the cell phone lying next to him, pressing the contact list and scrolled to the letter S.

Serena Pleasure.

Sam wanted to press dial, he wanted to hear her voice, and he wanted to talk to her. But he never did. It had been four months since the last time he apologized and they talked.

I doubt if we can ever be together. Sam thought.

*

Nancy zipped open her bag and searched for her cell phone. She flipped open it and said, “Hello?”

“Nance, fancy for tea?” Sam asked.

A sweet smiled danced on her lips. It had been three times in a row of this week already and weeks before were like that too. Sam kept asking her out for Bruch, lunch, tea and dinner. Nancy was really happy about it, she appreciated it so much.

“My pleasure.” she replied.

“Cool, I’ll come pick you up then. See ya.” Sam said and hanged up and let out a sigh. He had been trying real hard to have everything like in the past even if he had to do something he did not like. He tried hard to act normal, act like nothing had ever happened. He would and he must. No matter how uneasy he felt when being with Nancy, he would suck it up. He had to put everything right. He made a promise to Nancy. He was not going to break it, he had broken the promises he made to Serena but he would not break promises ever again.

Never will I trust you ever again

Here you go. Chapter 2.

Chapter 2

September 2008

The msn messenger popped up automatically when Serena went online. She glance at the friend contact list and was confused of what she saw in the personal message of Sam.

Sam -start to miss u

Serena frowned at the screen, wondering who he was talking about.

Sam -I’m missing u now

The next day was like any other day but perhaps something weird happened and Serena could not understand how that all happened.

Serena- I’m happy of knowing u.

Serena did not type it on purpose. She did not mean anything, she just typed that. But Sam seemed to be replying.

Sam- me?

When Serena saw that, she was confused. Therefore, she claimed that she was talking to him.

Serena- yes

Sam- then.

Serena- it’s true, it’s you.

Sam- then…..what to do?

Serena rolled her eyes when she saw that. She started to type.

Serena- what are we doing? Why aren’t we friends?

Serena stared at the monitor, waiting for his reply, Sam replied few minutes later.

Sam- take a rest

Serena frowned.

Serena- huh? Did I misunderstand sth? Are you talking to me?

Sam- guess

Seeing this, she knew that was Sam talking. Asking people to guess but would never tell you the answer was what Sam love to do.

Serena- yes, you are.

Sam- feel better?

Serena- so confused

Sam- me?

That reply did not make sense at all. Serena signed. And that was the last reply from Sam.

Serena was incredibly confused after the so-called msn personal message chat with Sam. She felt like she was talking to a nut job who never could understand what others were talking about and who could never give out a correct answer that people could actually understand. Serena asked that and Sam answered this. But she knew that was the Sam who did not want to answer the question. She knew him too well. But too well that sometimes she felt like she actually did not know him at all.

Sam really wanted to answer the question, he wanted to tell Serena how much he missed her and how much he regretted for what he had done and how sorry he was. He knew he had said those like a million times but still he wanted to say it. But everything was just useless; he knew that, he was such a jerk for confusing Serena once again. He should never do that. He had to try hard to control his emotions and doings from now on.

*

Serena stared out of the window with her fingers playing with the straw and stirred the drinks even when bubbles kept coming up, the heart shaped charm bracelet was swinging.

“Say something, Serena!” Joanna said as she waved her hand in front of Serena’s eyes. The movement caused Serena to snap out of her trance and she looked at Joanna.

“Huh?” Serena turned to look at Joanna.

“You’re so…. quiet, I didn’t ask you to come and sit.” Joanna complained.

“Nothing.” Serena said and stared down at her drink.

“Serena, you know you can tell me anything.” Joanna said, suddenly became serious. She reached across the table for her hand.

“I’m okay, really.” Serena looked up and replied with a smile.

“It’s about Sam again, isn’t it?” Joanna asked straight to the point.

“Mmm.” Serena murmured vaguely and turned back to her drink.

“What’s it this time?”

“He …ah…kinda talked to me through the msn personal message, and he called me few days ago.”

Serena told Joanna everything, every single word that appeared on the messages.

“I know it’s just a few lines but he got my hopes up.” Serena said as she took a sip of her drink.

“Well, it’s a good start.”

“I know he wanted to be back with me but I turned him down because I was too upset. But now I wanna be back with him and he asked me to take a damn rest! What does that mean?”

Joanna shook her head and said, “I don’t know. Maybe he thinks it will be better if you two take a rest?” Serena rolled her eyes but Joanna didn’t see that.

Serena shook her head, “He wanna to get back with me and right now I’m ready for it, but then why he gotta turned me down!” she said, almost shouting.

“Serena! Stop it! He’s not turning you down. Maybe he needs to make sure you won’t get hurt when getting back with him! You can’t know what’s on his mind, he’s always so unpredictable!” Joanna said, tried to calm Serena down and reasoned with her.

Serena sighed loudly and Joanna continued, “Don’t worry about that, I’m sure things will turn out ok.”

Serena forced a smile, “I wish.”

“Now I got a surprise for you.” Joanna said, taking out her cell phone, she made a call.

“Hey, you here?” Joanna asked the person talking on phone with her. “Ok, you can join us now.” she said and hung up.

Joanna smiled at Serena and then turned to the entrance of the restaurant. A girl probably the same age as Serena and Joanna was walking in. She was dressing in jeans and a red Addidas tee-shirt. She was taller than Joanna but a lot shorter than Serena.

Jasmine Carter.

She was a best friend of Serena. She studied in the same high school with Joanna, Sam and Serena. But due to the new jobs that her parents got, their whole family moved to New York last year. Finally, Jasmine argued with her parents and they agreed to let her come back to West High.

“OH MY GOSH! Jas?” Serena got to her feet and gave her big hug.

“It’s so nice to see you, S.” Jasmine said, and she hugged back.

“I miss you so much! I’m so glad to have you back!” Serena said happily.

“Yeah, me too. So how have you been doing?” Jasmine asked as she pulled Serena back and sat down next to Joanna.

“Same old same old.”

“Well, that’s not what I can see from your face.” Jasmine frowned at Serena.

“Uh…relationship stuff.” Serena said reluctantly.

“Oh, you gotta fill me in every detail.” Jasmine smiled cunningly. She ordered a Frappuccino and then Joanna and Serena started to tell Jasmine about things happened last year.

Jasmine put down her drink and said, “Sam’s such a jerk! How could he do that? Oh wait, what’s the girl’s name again?”

Nancy

“Right, Nancy. She’s such a bitch! What’s her problem?” Jasmine said red in anger.

Serena and Joanna exchanged eyes contact and shook their heads.

“S. don’t you worry; I won’t let Sam hurt you. You have my word!” Jasmine said seriously.

“You have my word too.” Joanna promised.

“Thanks guys.”

J: Ice skating, you coming?

Serena: Who’ll be going?

J: Us.

Serena: Who’s us….?

J: Me, Jas, Faith, Lax and you know…..us

Serena: I mean, is he going?

J: Sam? Yes, he is.

Serena: Um…I’m not sure.

J: Oh, c’mon, girl! It’s gonna be ok! Nothing will happen.

Serena: Does he know I might be going too?

J: Yes, I told him I’ll ask you.

Serena: Um…

J: Serena, please…let’s have some fun together, just ignore him. Please???

Serena: Okokok, whatever!

J: Hehe XD. See you at 4. You know the place right?

Serena: Yeah.

Jp: Good, see ya!

Serena had not seen Sam after early August, after he came and apologized; and he had been taking her as invisible on the first day of school, she did not know how she would feel when she saw him again. She was feeling really okay during summer; she wished school never started so she would not have to see Sam. She did not know how to deal with him. She hoped everything would be ok like what Joanna said.

*

The Ice-skating stadium was not crowded today, but most of them were experts, they were skating here and there as fast as wind.

When Serena put on the ice skating shoes, she started to panic. The last time she skated was two years ago, and that was her first time. She stared at the ice, wondering how many times she would fall over today.

Uh…suck it up! Serena told herself.

Joanna, Faith, Lax and Sam were already in the stadium, skating so fast, obviously they were the experts. Serena wondered why Sam never thought of teaching her to skate last year! Serena walked to Jasmine who just came out of the restroom.

“Hey, Jas! You gotta help me!”

Jasmine looked at her and her eyes narrowed.

“Dammit! Do you know how to skate honestly!?” Jasmine asked as she was holding Serena’s hand, leading her to skate. Serena skated like a tortoise which maybe a little bit better because tortoise did not skate.

“Uh…not really.” Serena forced a smiled and continued to skate with the help of Jasmine. When Jasmine moved, she moved, she was so afraid of falling.

“Will you be okay if I let go?” Jasmine asked, looking at Serena, her eyes pleading her to say yes.

“I guess.” Serena replied and immediately Jasmine let go of her and she skated away.

“Oh shit!” Serena whispered; she skated slowly, step by step, hoping not to fall, she knew there was no way she could get up by herself if she really did fall down.

Joanna and Sam were slating happily, hand in hand, laughing happily and Sam skated in circles around her, sometimes his hands would be on her waist and she would be flying in the air, her laughter could be heard miles away.

Serena was glad she finally got used to skate on the ice. At least she did not fall since Jasmine let go. She was skating really slow, not fun at all, and she started to accelerate a bit.

“Wow, awesome.” She smiled and accelerated just a little bit more, she skated to the very far corner and she felt her hair stood on end. The ice was so slippery, she could not stop, panic started to grow inside her. She wanted to call Jasmine for help but she was no where near her. She was not in any control at all; she knew exactly what would happen next, she was going to crush into the wall and that would hurt like hell, but she did not think she could stop it from happening.

Bang!

Everything was spinning.

“Aw...am I on a marry-go-round? No. I was skating and I lost control.” Serena was confused; she brought her hands to her head, “Ah…must’ve hit the head.” She squeezed her eyes then opened it, she was glad her head was not bleeding. She saw the others were still skating; they had not yet noticed her little accident.

Great.

She did not need any of her friends laughing at her. She tired to push herself up but she immediately sat back down.

Damn.

Everything was spinning way too fast. She could not focus, her sight was blurred. She took deep breathes, she just had to wait until things stop spinning before getting up. She breathed in and out slowly, she heard blades slicing into the ice, and they were coming to her direction in a high velocity. She wanted to move away, in case someone liked her lose control and crushed into her; she so did not want that to happen.

“Are you ok!?” Someone asked her.

A guy.

Serena opened her eyes. Sam was kneeing down next to her with a hand on her shoulder. She stared at him for a long moment, “Serena?” Sam waved one hand in front of her, and at the same time shaking her shoulder gently.

Serena blinked, swallowed the thump in her throat and said, “No, I…ah…hit my head…ah…everything is spinning.” Serena told him; rubbing the back of her head.

“C’mon, get up, let me have you checked up. I hope you won’t get a concussion.” Sam put her arm around his shoulder and the other hand on her waist, supporting her.

Serena heard Sam was talking to her, but she did not make out any of them. “Oh shit, stop.” Serena whispered, but was loud enough for Sam to hear. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping things would stop spinning.

Jasmine’s eyes went wide when seeing Serena fell over; she started to skate towards her right away but was stopped by Joanna the very moment.

“Sam’s there.” she said to Jasmine.

Jasmine nodded and skated to the opposite direction, further away from Serena. She knew if things turned out ok, Sam and Serena might be able to be together again soon.

“Breathe in, out, in and out.” Sam said his grip tight on her waist. Following Sam’s leading, Serena breathed in and out slowly, “Yeah, that’s it, feeling better?” he asked, his voice in concern.

Serena opened her eyes slowly; she looked around, finally she was not seeing triple people, things were not spinning anymore. She turned back to look at Sam in the eye, “Yeah, thanks.” Serena smiled, “I think I can take it from here.”

However, Sam was not planning to let go, his grip tightened on her waist. “No, I’m not too sure about that. I don’t want you to have ANY accident.” Sam smiled a bit. Placing a hand under Serena’s knees, and another under her arms, Sam lifted her up and started to skate slowly.

“Hey!” Serena cried, “What’re you doing?” she was surprised by his action. She was struggling, and Sam saw it, the bracelet was still on her waist. She was still wearing. Sam smiled.

“Helping you, you don’t know how to skate.”

Serena shot him a dead glare.

Sam continued with laugher, “Well, at least that’s what I can see, so better let me do you a favor.” He said with his eyes looking straight into hers. Serena locked eyes with him but then quickly looked away. She tried to hold the tears that threatened to spill over. She wanted to cry, but it was not because she fell over or she was in pain, she was just way to upset about the past. The things that she did not want to experience again happened.

Déjà vu.

Sam said the exact same thing when she fell over a year ago. Coming to skate was a huge mistake after all. All the memories were coming back like a punch; Serena would not be able to stop it anymore.

“Are you sure you don’t wanna go to the hospital?” Sam asked, walking her to his Volvo. Sam had offered to drive her home even though Serena refused. He missed her so much, he wanted to help her and make sure she was okay after hitting her head. He was scared some other kind of accident would happen and he would hate himself for letting it happened.

“I’m sure. I just wanna go home.” Serena smiled and looked away. She could not look at Sam anymore. She had been avoiding eye contact since they left the stadium. It hurt every time she looked at him. She could see memories glittering in his eyes.

“Ok, then I’ll drive you home.” Sam said, he knew Serena hated hospital but still he got to ask. He wished they could have more to talk about, but he knew they would not have and that was his entire fault.

“Thanks.” Serena said and got into the car. She put on the seatbelt and then immediately closed her eyes, her head hurt, and the most important thing was that she did not know how to deal with Sam, being in the same car with him, she just did not know what anymore. And finally she chose not the deal with him.

Sam exhaled loudly when seeing Serena’s head resting against the window, obviously that was a sign telling Sam not to disturb her. He understood perfectly why she did not want to talk to him, or even try to start a conversation with him. That was normal. She must have hated him. Sam punched the key into the ignition and started to drive off.

It’s gonna be a long drive. Sam thought.

The Volvo pulled at the pink building. Sam turned to Serena and shook her gently, “Hey, wake up.”

Serena stirred and turned to face him, “Huh?” At first she was just trying to pretend to be sleeping, but at last, she fell asleep.

“We’re here. Do you want me to go up with you?” Sam looked at her, he was worried.

Serena blinked, “Oh, no. I can really take it from here. Thanks.” She said and pushed open the passage seat.

“ ‘night.” Sam forced a weak smile.

“ ‘night.” Serena got off the car, and walked straight to the dormitory, never looking back.

Sam watched her disappeared into the building then took off.

The shiny star shape rock with a silver chain was lying at the front seat, shining there without noticed.

*

Serena swung her legs off the bed, finding her trek to the living room in the dark. She searched for the phone on the couch. After Sam drove her home, they just said their goodbyes and Serena immediately went straight up to her apartment, she was glad that Sam did not go up with her. She could not deal with so much SAM in one day. She just could not. It hurt to be with Sam when he was not the one she knew anymore.

“Where’s it!?” Serena asked herself. She threw the cushions off the couch, and there it was, the phone was lying betwixt the arm and the mattress. She flipped it open at once, not bothered to take a look at who’s calling her at midnight.

“ ‘Alo?”

“Hey Serena.” Jasmine said her voice in concern.

“Jas, it’s middle of the night, so you better have something important to tell me!” Serena yawned; she picked up the cushions from the floor and put them back on the couch.

“I’m sorry. I just wanna make sure you are okay? Did you hurt yourself today? I saw you hit the wall pretty hard.” Jasmine felt guilty for not going to Serena when she fell, but she knew that Sam was there helping her, she did not have to be there and ended the rare conversation they had. But still the guilt had been killing her, so at last she called.

“Ah…my head hurts like hell.” Serena told her, and was surprised by what she heard, “Wait! You knew that? Why didn’t you come and help me!?”

There was a pause.

Jasmine did not say anything.

“Jas….?” Serena pressed her voice low but hard.

“I’m sorry. I saw Sam was coming to you so I ……” Jasmine confessed.

“Huh, how thoughtful!” Serena said with sarcastic.

“So how’s it with Sam?” Jasmine was trying to change the topic.

“Nothing, he’s like a nice guy helping the needy.” She rolled her eyes even though Jasmine could not see. What would happen between Sam and her anyway!

“Oh, don’t say that.”

“Well…déjà vu. I hate that!”

“I’m sorry.”

“Never mind. I knew this will happen sooner or later but I never expect it to be that soon.” Serena said, getting up from the couch and walked back to her bedroom.

“It’ll get easier.”

Serena sat on the bed, “I prefer either we don’t have any interference, no talking at all, or we get back together. I can’t deal with anything in between. I just can’t.” Serena told Jasmine. It was really true, if she preferred the middle of these two, it would only be a torture to her again, let alone she was suffering already.

“Only Sam can do that. Make things right again—”

Serena cut her off, “But he will never do that. Trust me, I know him.”

“Serena…”

“I don’t wanna talk about that. I’ll see you tomorrow, Night.” Serena said and hung up.

“Serena!” Jasmine said but the line was already dead.

Serena curled back on the bed; she pulled her knees to her chest and starting to toy with the bracelet that she had never taken off even after breaking up with Sam. Her heart sunk. It was missing. It was not there on her waist this time.

“Where is it?” she muttered, she searched the bed but was in vain, she searched everywhere, but it just could not be found.

She sat down on the bed once again; she could not believe she lost it, the precious little thing Sam gave her. She shook from the pain, the pain throbbing in her chest, the pain of knowing Sam would never be there to tell her everything’s going to be ok, the pain of knowing Sam would never call no matter how long she stared at the phone. Sam would never be there to wipe her tears away, her tears ran down like razor blades but he would not be there for her anymore, because it was over. She opened the drawer and took out the bottle of painkiller; she popped three little white meds into her mouth and swallowed it dry. She lay onto the bed and slowly drifted off into a restless sleep.

*

Sometimes I wake up crying at night and sometimes I screamed up your name……

Serena jumped and looked away from the laptop screen and stared at her cell phone which was lying on the bed. Days ago she was telling herself that he would never call, but now seemed like it was not that over, yet. She picked it up from the bed.

Sam’s calling.

Serena stared at it for a long moment before pressing the answer button.

“ ’alo?” Serena said, pretended to sound as she did not know who was calling.

“May I speak to Serena?” Sam said as if he was it was the first time he called her.

“Go ahead.” Serena said, choking out the words to be accurately.

“I’m Sam Parker.”

Serena’s hand shook causing the phone to shake as well when she heard Sam’s voice. “Uh huh?”

That was all Serena could say. She was wondering whether she was hallucinating.

“Um, are you in charge of the invitation of the school reopening ceremony on Monday?” Sam asked casually.

“Yes.” Serena replied, and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and to sound casual.

“I’m wondering if I could not attend that mass because I will not be available on that day.” Sam explained simply not even bother to say any other things.

“Ok, sure, I’ll cancel your name on the list.” Serena’s voice shook. Sam heard the change in her voice but he didn’t say anything about it.

“Thanks, night.”

There was a click and the line went dead. Serena was still holding the phone with her shaky hand; she was not quite back to reality, yet. It was like a dream, it happened too fast. She was surprised and as well as upset for Sam called her. Serena burst into tears all of a sudden. Her heart hurt. The way they talked just now was like strangers. They used to chat happily and talked like lovers and much closed friends, but now, they were both strangers. Or maybe worst.

Sam wanted to say more, he did not want to just talk about school stuff; he felt so stupid and awkward to talk about just that, usually they would talk about a lot of stupid and useless things before really talking about the important thing, but now, it was totally a reverse. Sam wanted to as Serena how she had been; he wanted to do that so badly. But the moment he opened his mouth to speak, he stopped; he was stopped because he remembered Serena telling him that they could not be together anymore. He felt so upset about that; he could not believe Serena actually say that. He just did not know what he should do, let alone he could not do anything. He really did miss her so much; none of them could imagine that they would end like that.

Emo --> bright mood

Prologue

September 2008

The first bell had just rung at West High; this was the final year of everyone.

Grade 12, a year that every student would be looking forward to, there would be excursion and graduation. Everyone was so excited, and of course, Serena was not an exception.

Happy times always hided sadness, the most miserable thing to do during the beginning of the year was to stay out of someone’s life. Being so close, always hurt the most. Sam never learnt that from the easy way, and now it’s time he learnt it from the hard way.

There were some people who just knew exactly how to ruin other’s perfect day, and they smiled after that. They never knew to learn it’s time to stop; they just did it on and on until they reached the point of no return and everything would be over for them.

Watch out, Sam and Serena! This year was not going to be easy…..so much was lying in waiting…..

Chapter 1

September 2009

Getting up early in the morning, Sam Parker took a shower, combed his hair, putting on his neatly black shirt and his favorite jeans. He looked at himself in the mirror.

He looked handsome.

Even though he looked gorgeous, girls loved him but it meant nothing to him, his mind was only on one person. He hoped to see her soon, but he wondered how they would feel when they see each other.

He put on his sneakers and set off. The sun was shining brightly, he ducked in his pocket for his DKNY sunglasses, and he put it on and walked to the parking lot to retrieve his Volvo and drove to Nancy’s.

“Hey, Sam!” Nancy greeted Sam with a smile as she climbed into the Volvo.

“Hey, Nance.” Sam smiled and put on the seatbelt.

“Looking forward to school?” Nancy asked and put on hers.

“Absolutely.” Sam replied and drove off. He really was looking forward to school. He hoped this year was going to be better. He wanted to forget about the past and had everything started all over again.

The Volvo pulled off in front of Western High. Nancy opened the door and climbed out of the car.

“Thanks Sam.”

Just as Sam started to drive off, Nancy called to him.

“Sam.”

Sam turned his head and looked out of the window.

“Can we have lunch together?” Nancy asked, she looked into his eyes, hoping him to say yes. She was wondering when everything had changed so much, it was always understood that they would have meals together but now it seemed not anymore.

“Uh…I’ll call you.” Sam smiled. He turned the steering wheel and took off. Nancy stood there, letting out a heavy sighed. Sam used to have lunch, dinner, and almost every meal with Nancy, but now he did not feel right of doing that, knowing that she loved him, he just did not want to anymore.

Sam pulled into the parking lot of West High. A whole new year was going to start. He wondered what it would be like but one thing for sure, this year would not be as happy as it once had been last year.

Too much had changed.

Getting off the Porsche, she swung her long hair to the back. It was floating with the wind; the sweet smell of the shampoo was smelled across the street.

Serena Pleasure.

She was wearing a tan top and a white skirt with a pair of silvery grey heels. A black bag was on her shoulder and with a pair of Marc Jacobs’s sunglasses on; she walked slowly toward the school gate.

Sam gasped when he saw Serena walking in front of him. The moment he saw her, he could not recognize her at all. She was so different from last year, so much prettier. He missed her a lot. His mind was vacillating between the thought of should he walk to her and say hi like nothing had happened? Or should he just pretend he did not see her?

Whatever, I’m going to her. Sam told himself. He closed the door of the driver side and walked across the street. He stopped and turned around when a hand grabbed him.

“Hey, Sam!” Joanna said with a very happy face.

“Joanna! I miss you!” Sam said and gave her a hug.

Joanna and Sam were good friends, but Sam was like being held hostage by Nancy for the entire summer. Nancy was afraid that Sam would go look for Serena and then they would be back together so she found every possible way to stop him from going out too often.

Sam released her, “Gosh, finally I’m free.” He smirked, out of the corner of his eyes, Serena was no where to be seen already.

*

“This year is a very special year. It’s your final year! You’ll be graduating from High school, you all will go to college, make important decisions, and you are no kids anymore!” Principal Doyle said, “Now, let’s have our dear, Ms Karen to tell us about the graduation trip to Beijing, the capital of China!”

*

Serena pushed opened the door, her head down busy filling out the form of the classes she was going to take this term.

“Sorry.” She apologized when she ran in someone; she raised her head. Sam was looking at her; he just looked at her but said nothing, not a word. Then he walked right past her. Serena frowned, shaking her head, knowing this year would be no difference from last year. Sam was going to take her as invisible again.

Serena sighed and walked to Ms Karen, “Good morning, Can I ask you something?” she said, putting down her books.

“Of course! Miss Pleasure.” Ms Karen said with a happy face.

“Am I invisible?” Serena asked with a sarcastic smile.

Ms Karen looked at her with doubt, she was totally lost, “I’m sorry?”

Serena shook her head, “Never mind,” she placed the form on the table, “I would like to enroll these classes.” She gave the form to her.

Ms Karen took it, studied it for a while and said, “Ok, there’s no problem, you can attend the classes.”

Serena nodded a thank you and left the office.

Smile~

Cool. I didn't go to the Western Philosophy n History Class this morning. I didn't oversleep, it's just I was too sleepy so I simply turned off the alarm and went back to sleep. LOL, but I felt a bit guilty after I woke up, I felt like there was something missing. Anyways, I WILL go to class next Saturday!! No more skipping class!!

Just to let you know, my new story is coming along great! I've written 38 pages so far, and I really love it. This time, I didn't spend a lot of time on brainstorming during shower time. There was a few times I stayed up late to write because all the ideas just came to be when I stared at the blank screen. Awesome, huh? lol

I showed a scene of You are my boy friend, but you aren't my boyfriend to my friend, Jas. She told me she loved it! I'm so happy to hear that. She is such a great supporter! She loves my stories, and she reads it over and over. Here I would like to give her a big hug and say thank you.
"HUG HUG" + "THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT JASMINE!"
Basically, that's it. Here you go. The epilogue. The last chapter of the Crossroad. I hope you guys like it. Leave me a comment if you like it, or if you hate it T_T. Anyways, Enjoy!

4th August, 2008

Even after such a long time, sometimes, Serena would wonder whether Sam had made that decision, the decision to deny everything, not to admit anything that he truly did, did he do it as easy as breathing? In that whole event, Sam never really cared how she felt. He just chose other things over her all the time.

Sam could deny everything that he has once said to Serena, he could just make them vanish without giving a damn about it. How much Serena wished that he would tell her that everything was going to be ok, none of them were real.

In a few months time, Serena gained so much. However, in a few days time, she lost damn much. It was never like what it was wanted. Everything happened so fast and it ended fast. She wondered how stupid was she to trust, and got fooled by Sam. Trusted Sam was really her first mistake.

During these four months, at first Serena still cared about what was happening to Sam, she always glanced at him from time to time, but as time went by, she no longer felt the need to do so, she started not to care, she started to take Sam as a person who has never existed in her life, even though Serena and Sam were studying in the same class, in the same school, but never did they look or speak to each other. They took each other as invisible.

That day Serena had a meeting with a couple of teachers to talk about the school opening day that would hold next month. After two hours of discussion, the meeting was finally over. At first, Serena planned to have lunch at home but she changed her mind when she walked down the stairs.

The school outdoor basket ball court was situated at the left corner of the school campus. The sound of the basketball dunking in was heard. Echoes were everywhere. Obviously, the one playing was an expert. Serena peeked at the court. He was approaching the basket in a very high speed with the ball in hand. He jumped and slam-dunks. Serena felt her lungs were screaming for air when she finally released the breath, she did not realized she had been holding her breathe since she entered the court.

Sam was playing basketball. Serena gasped the moment she made out who the person was. She wanted to run but she could not, her body had other thought.

Everyday, she would go to the court after school, she never want to back to the dorm at once, she would always wander on the streets for a while before getting back, every day, she was hoping that Sam would follow her and then finally talked to her. But she knew perfectly clear that this would never happen because this would always be a wish, it would never come true.

Déjà vu.

That sucked.

Serena finally turned around and left. Hoping that Sam did not see her. She walked out of the campus and headed to the dorm. Serena tried so hard not to think about Sam, but it was so hard, she loved him.

Why can’t we be together? I love him so much but why was he doing that to me!? She thought.

Serena was so in her own world, she did not realize that she was no longer walking along the pavement. She had made a right and subconsciously stepped onto the street, and in record time, someone broke in a run and heading towards her at a very high speed, when Serena started to cross the street, that person shouted and grabbed her arm, “Watch out!” It came from a voice, the voice, which was so familiar, it had been so long since the last time Serena heard it, but still, she could remember it so clearly, she missed it so much. She turned around and looked at Sam.

“Are you ok!?” Sam panted, swallowed hard and asked with concerned.

“I…I’m okay.” Serena nodded, she was totally stunned. She was shaking real bad as she spoke and she could not control herself, she wanted to stop her body from trembling but her body just did not listen to her. Her eyes were wild and scared. Serena looked so panicked that it brought tears to her eyes when Sam started talking.

“Serena! You could have been hit if a car was coming!” Sam said half shouted, he looked at her sullenly, “Sweetie, I’m sorry.” Sam then apologized, he looked at Serena, and he wished she would forgive him.

“Don’t. Call. Me. Sweetie, you don’t love me at all.” Serena whispered, her eyes met Sam, she then took a deep breath, after regaining her composure, she said, “Besides, there is nothing to be sorry of, everyone has emotions, right?” Serena’s voice was thick with sarcasm.

“NO! I’m so sorry for EVERYTHING! I shouldn’t deny, I should’ve told people the truth!” Sam said as he was choking on words and shaking his head. “Please. I miss you, so much.” Sam pleaded.

Serena stared at him; “But you did and everyone thinks that it was a scum, and I’m the stupid girl who made it up!” She said, choking back the tears that were lumped in her throat and respond to Sam. “Sam Parker, how the hell could you!? You looked me in the eye and told me you loved me! So, why the hell would you deny!?” Serena did not bother to mind her mouth anymore, she shouted as her tears finally fell.

Sam looked penitent but still she just could not accept him, she turned to him again.

“You said forever and always, you made those promises in the diner, on my birthday and in Florida, with straight face and from your heart, but I can’t see how real those were! They are all lies! You’ve been lying to me all this time, aren’t you!?”

Sam opened his mouth but closed it again, he knew he was wrong to do that, but he also knew that the promises he made were real. He was not lying. He sighed and began, “Serena, I know, I’m so so sorry, please, forgive me. I love you I really do.” Sam said, he felt so screwed right now. He knew there was nothing he could do to make things right again. “I know I’m selfish to make the decision myself of not talking to you. I thought it was the best way, ignore you for good. I want you to get over with what have happened. But until now, I can tell that you haven’t got over with it, not at all.

Sam whipped a river of tears which was making its way down Serena’s cheeks. She stepped back.

“Sam, you really think I don’t want to be with you? But I honestly don’t know what to believe!” Serena took a deep breath and continued, “You know something? When people dig in, they wanna come between us. You don’t ever, never walk away from it, you should stay with it. But you didn’t. Everything that Nancy and everyone did or said, they all hurt! But you never stood up to protect me, never! And they just kept on attacking! You just comfort me but you never protect me from getting hurt at the first place!” Serena let out a laugh and added, “Last time you were even worst, you did not do anything other than denying!” she shouted, she did not know what to say, but she just had to let everything she wanted to say to come out once and for all. “What the fuck is wrong with you!?” She yelled for the once last time and punched him at the chest.

Sam brought his hand to his chest, but ignored the pain, he knew he deserved that.

“Serena… please, I didn’t mean to, I wanna tell you the truth all this time.” Sam whispered as he was looking at her with watery eyes pleading for her to say yes, say yes that she would forgive him. But nothing he said could change Serena’s mind.

“Quit making excuses for yourself, if you wanna let me know the truth, I’m sure you’ll find a way to do so. When I wrote you that letter, I really am hoping that we can get back together, put everything behind, but—”.

Sam cut in, grabbing her arms, refused to let Serena go.

I’m sorry I didn’t come to you, I’m sorry. I thought if I stay out of your life, you’ll be okay soon. But I don’t see how good that worked out and I’m just too tired to stay away from you, I can’t do this anymore.”

Serena struggled to free from Sam’s grip but in vain, Sam went on. I won’t care what Nancy thinks ever again, I won’t give a damn about her! She made me hurt you but I won’t make the same mistake twice, trust me!”

Serena protested as Sam grabbed her arm, she shook his hand off and said, “How do I know you are not lying?”

“No, you don’t.” Sam said, looking wounded.

Serena licked her lips and added, “How the hell do I know it is not some sort of a game? Some sort of a plan? You coming and asking for forgiveness and when I get back with you, you won’t break my heart again?”

“Serena…please, it’s not like that.”

“I don’t know, Sam.” Serena shook her head, “Besides, Nancy didn’t make you; she didn’t say in words that you have to ignore me, you still have the right to refuse and the right to choose a better way to fix that!”

Sam frowned and looked at Serena in doubt.

“I figured out the truth all along.”

“How?” Sam looked as white as a sheet.

“Don’t insult my intelligent!” Serena shot him a dead glare. “After I overheard the last few lines of the conversation you and Nancy had the other day, it’s not hard to put things together!” Serena explained.

Sam’s jaw dropped, “Gosh, I’m so sorry.” he didn’t know else could be said.

“Since then I’ve given you every opportunity to tell me the truth but you chose to keep your mouth shut! You chose to avoid me!” Serena yelled at him, the anger came from both mad at Sam and upset about the entire thing.

“I don’t know how to tell you…”

“Then why are you here? Why are you even here now since it’s so hard to tell me the truth!?” Serena snapped.

Sam opened his mouth but then closed it.

“After months—months, you come back and think it’s going to be ok for saying sorry!?”

Sam shook his head, “No, I don’t.”

“You know what, if you choose to let me know the entire reason, I can really disappear right in front of you, our relationship can be over and we can still be friends, I really can do so because I want you to be happy, and because I know Nancy is like a sister to you, family, I understand!” Serena shook her head and continued, “I’m not sure if we can get back together, well, maybe in the future, but not right now, you should have think twice before doing anything, you can’t just go ahead and do whatever you want then turn around telling people how sorry you are. It won’t work!”

Sam looked at Serena; he did not know what to say.

“You didn’t come to me after you got the letter but still I’ve been waiting for you every single day! I kept telling myself that you will come to me, and talk to me for real, not in my dream or anything, but I was so wrong!”

Sam opened his mouth but Serena didn’t let him say anything, she just continued.

“Now what!? You come to me after four months!? Took you long enough to make a decision! If we get back together right now, I’m sure you will just choose others over me one day.” Serena said as she took a step back, backing away from Sam.

“Do you know how hard it was when you did that? And with my mind kept reminding me of what you said to me, saying that you love me and want to be with me, but those are so unreal to me now. Do you know how it’s been for me during these months!? Do you have any idea?” Serena said with her eyes wide.

“I thought I’ve truly let go of you, but I haven’t, deep down, I was still thinking of you, every minutes!”

Sam just looked at her; he did not know what else he could say.

Everything is over, from the moment you choose to deny, it’s truly over.” Serena said as a river of tears making its way down her cheeks.

Sam opened his mouth to speak but closed it when Serena raised her finger, asking him not to start anything. Then she added, “I can’t take this anymore, despite I can let go of you or not.” Saying this was like a razor-sharp pierces. Sam took a step forward and his eyes searched for Serena’s and he gently whipped her tears, this time Serena didn’t protested. Sam pulled her into a hug and pressed his lips on Serena’s. Serena did not back off, she kissed him back and then she pulled him back just enough to lock eyes with him.

“Sam, I’ll miss you.” Serena said, a pain pierced through the general region of her chest, tears fell. She turned around and raised her head, watching the sun passed over the sky and finally fell behind the horizon, and she walked away slowly.
