Coffee

Whenever you think of coffee, I mean nice coffee, you will probably think of Starbucks. What's Starbucks to you? A coffee shop for you to get coffee? Is that it? Maybe it is just a coffee shop to many people. Every day when they get up, before going to work, they will go to Starbucks and grab a cup of coffee and a bangel for breakfast. It is always just a place to get coffee.

Starbucks isn't just a regular coffee shop to me. It is a place where not just I can get nice coffee, or my favorite drink-- Mocha Frappuccino-- but a place to hang out.

I really love Mocha Frappuccino. I never went to Starbucks in the past but I started going there 3 years ago. I remembered the first time I went there was during Christmas time. I think it was 12/23. Ha, I can't believe I remembered the exact day. Anywayz, I went there with my BFF. I ordered mocha frappuccino because she told me to, and I just LOVE it. I've tried the others, but that is always my no. 1 choice.

Starbucks is a place where I love to hang out with my BFF. It's like our favorite place to chat. Everytime we go there, we will spend hours there talking and talking. We talk about random stuff, but mostly we talk about the same thing and the same person over and over. (what and who are not the main point here. ^.^ )

I really like this place. There was one time I went there to study Chemistry with my BFF, but it didn't turn out too well. Just as what I said, it's a place to hang out, not to study. lol Well, at least to my BFF and me. It's just too distracting to study there, we couldn't concentrate, not at all!

We've done a lot of things in Starbucks. Apart from having our favorite drink and chatting, guess what else we did...... we painted nails there. Yeah, you didn't get it wrong. WE PAINTED NAILS THERE. Have you ever done that? I guess not. Anywayz, it was fun. I mean I don't think anyone will be crazy enough to do that in a public place, in a coffee shop, in Starbucks! While we were painting our nails, the guy sitting next to us did look at us funny. But, well, we ignored him, and whoever looked at us weird.

I've written scenes of my stories in Starbucks, I've done homeworks with my BFF there, I've painted nails with her there, I've gossip with my BFF there..... I've been there alone to study for my GCE. Well, it's true that I said it's hard to study there but it's so distracting but .... if you are alone, it will be better because there's no one to talk to you.

Anywayz, Starbucks is not just a coffee shop to me, it's a wonderful place to hang out and do some catch up with your BFF and that's what I always do!!!!!! ^.^

Here you go. Chatper 14

Chapter 14

January 2009

After a day and a half, Jasmine could not hold her anger anymore; she marched into the canteen after Literature and searched for Sam. She walked to him, put her books down hard on the table and caused Sam to look up from his lunch.

Jasmine stared at him, “What the hell is wrong with you Sam? I can’t believe you are doing this AGAIN! If you wanna stay out of S’s life, just do it silently, you don’t have to inform her!” she shouted at Sam.

“Jas, this is the only way.” Sam said at he looked around and seeing everyone at the canteen turned their head slightly and staring at them.

Jasmine did not care if anyone was staring like at, she just continued, “No, it’s not the only way! The only and the best way is to get back with her! I don’t understand why you two can’t be together since you guys love each other so damn much!” Jasmine said with a shake of her head as she sat down opposite Sam.

“It’s not that simple, it’s not just the business of the two of us anymore.”

“Well, everything is just an excuse! Or maybe you’ve already fallen in love with another girl! You’ve been getting her hopes up and now you let her fall, and you don’t even care!” Jasmine shouted.

“Too much has happened as I’ve told you!” Sam said, his hands rose in mid air.

“But you love Serena!” Jasmine knew he could never understand what exactly Sam was thinking.

“Yeah I do! And you know what? What I’ve been doing are all good for her.”

“Bullshit! How in the world is it good for her when you kept doing things to break her heart!?” Jasmine yelled, she couldn’t control herself anymore, she was really very angry.

“She gotta forget about me since we can’t be together! I still love her, and my heart is always with her.” Sam said, trying to reason with Jasmine but was in vain.

“Well, screw you! You are one selfish bastard, you know that?”

“Excuse me?” Sam looked at Jasmine in shock.

“You heard me. You know what? You kept saying that you want S to move on, you don’t wanna break her heart anymore, but do you know what she thinks? Maybe she doesn’t want to move on without you! You just make the choice for her; you thought it will be the best for her, but what if it is not!” Jasmine said, eyes turned cold on Sam.

“I maybe selfish, but she told me herself that she doesn’t think we can get back together! She said so herself! Now you tell me, how the hell will she not want to move on without me?” Sam chewed his lips and looked away from Jasmine, trying to control his anger and as well as sadness.

“She said so because she lost trust in you at that time! How do you know she doesn’t want to be with you now? Can’t you feel that she actually cares? She wants to talk to you so bad but you didn’t talk! Well, you will sometimes but then soon you act like you regret, so you stop talking to her. Then later, you give her hopes again, and again, hurl her down the pit!” Jasmine said as her arms crossed.

Sam took a deep breath and tried to make his tone more reasonable. “Jas! Don’t act like I’m your enemy!” Sam looked at Jasmine who was staring at him.

“Sam, I’ve had it up the here with you!” Jasmine said and brought her hand to eye level.

“Serena has already gone insane once, I won’t let her go through this over again! You will be my enemy if she gets hurt again!” Jasmine said furiously.

“Believe it or not, the truth is, I still love her, and I also can’t stand seeing her getting hurt.” Sam said as he rose from his seat and walked away.

“Class, don’t forget the essay due Monday!” Mrs. Lucy said loudly as the students rushed out of the classroom once the bell rang. Jasmine was the last one to leave, she never understand why everyone had to be in such a hurry since it was the last lesson of the day. Jasmine was walking out of the classroom, carrying her book as she crushed right into a person.

“Sorry.” Sam said, dropped down next to her and helped her gather the books.

Jasmine looked up at Sam and immediately said, “I don’t need your help.” She gathered her books quickly and grabbed the note book from Sam and walked away. Sam stood there, looking at Jasmine with surprised. He knew that this time Jasmine was really mad at him. He’s so done this time.

Jasmine went to the canteen to join Serena to have lunch.

“Hey! Jas!” Serena waved. Jasmine walked to her and put the books down.

“Well, don’t tell me you have a fight with Sam again.” Serena doubted.

“How do you know?” Jasmine asked, astonished.

“Your eyes betray you.” Serena said and added, “I don’t understand, what’s it this time?”

Jasmine sighed, “Don’t you hate him? I mean, not really hate but I don’t know how to say. I’m annoyed with his attitude, like what he does are all right, none of them will be considered at wrong.”

“What do you mean?” Serena asked, totally in lost.

“Never mind.” Jasmine stood up and walked to the counter to order her lunch.

“I want….A coke, and a chicken salad.” The woman inserted it into the order machine.

“Anything else?”

Jasmine shook her head. “Nah. That’s it.”

“It will be $5.67.”

“Here you go.” Jasmine handed her the money. She turned around and saw Sam, walking right toward her; he stared past Jasmine’s eyes and away at the person behind her.

Jasmine walked back to Serena, “Shit, I think Sam’s mad at me now.” Jasmine said eyes narrowed.

“How do you know?” Serena asked.

This whole conversation was getting really weird.

“You should see his eyes. It’s like they were looking at you but actually not! Do you know what I mean?” Jasmine asked, keeping peeking at Sam.

“Believe me, I know. That’s how he once looked at me.” Serena said sadly.

“I don’t know, he looks so scary, I don’t dare to go talk to him.” Jasmine said.

“Well, don’t worry. He will talk to you soon.” Serena guarantee, she knew Sam. Right now Sam must be just mad at himself for Jasmine was mad at him, but very soon, he would be normal and talking to Jasmine again. Serena sighed, how often she would wish Sam would do that to her as well.

*

Sam glanced at his watch, it said ten to three, and he still got some time to go to Starbucks before the Chemistry lesson started.

“Frappuccino, please.” Sam ordered, and handed three bucks to the waiter.

“Here you go.” Sam got the drink and rushed out of Starbucks.

*

A sudden grab around the neck made Jasmine jumped. “Who the hell!” she swore.

“I’m sorry, forgive me please.” Sam apologized but still wrapping an arm around Jasmine’s neck and held a drink to her throat.

“Sorry, sorry, forgive me; don’t be mad at me, please?” Sam pleaded as he handed Jasmine her favorite drink. Jasmine stared at him, and wondered how Sam could change so fast when at lunch Sam was avoiding her and now he was asking for forgiveness.

“You don’t need my forgiveness.” Jasmine said, knowing Sam wasn’t mad at her, she just continued to be “mad” at him.

“Jas, don’t do this to me. I’m sorry.” Sam pleaded again.

“Fine.” Jasmine said with a smile danced on her lips and she accepted the drink.

“Let’s not fight again.” Sam said, and together they walked to class.
