Chapter 11
December 2007
Every year the school would hold a Christmas Party and students were always so excited on that day because that’s the day before the long holiday. On that day, Serena woke up earlier than usual to wash her hair and she had spent a long time choosing which clothes to wear. Finally she picked the green sweater and a white skirt, and when she got to school, most of her friends commented on her outfit that she looked like a Christmas tree.
“Ha-ha, that’s good though, ‘cause today is the Christmas celebration!” Serena did not mind people say that because she was in such a good mood for she did not know why.
“Merry Christmas, Sam.” Serena greeted at once when she saw Sam, he walked to her.
“Merry Christmas to you too.” Sam said, his eyes fixing on Serena.
“Well, I know I look weird, like a Christmas tree, right?”
Sam was surprised, because to Sam, Serena looked really pretty in her somewhat like Christmas tree top and the white skirt, and for a second, Sam felt mesmerized.
“Oh, no no no, of course not, I was planning to go for gorgeous. Ah, here, Merry Christmas again.” Sam handed Serena a present. Sometimes being closed to Serena made Sam forget everything else.
“Oh, thank you! That’s so sweet!” Serena smiled.

“Welcome to the annual Christmas Party, this year, we have prepared a lot of exciting games for you all. The first one is Stepping balloons! Let’s come and play!”
Everyone was rushing toward the MC; very soon the playground was crowded with people.
“Hey, let’s go Serena!” Sam said as he was standing up and holding Serena’s hand.
“No, I’m scared of playing this!” Serena showed no intention to move.
“C’mon, I’m here, there is nothing to be scared of!!!” Serena shook her head but then finally she agreed.
Serena was so scared and she just kept on grabbing Sam’s clothes, never had she let go for a second. Finally the game was over.
“That’s so exciting!” Serena said as she was panting.
“Yeah, I agree!” Sam replied and they laughed together.
After the gathering in the classroom, Serena planned to hang out with Faith and Joanna.
“Hey, I’m hanging out with Joanna and Faith, wanna join us?” Serena asked Sam.
“Probably not.” Sam shook his head.
“Oh, you busy?” Serena was kind of upset after hearing it.
“Actually…..I wanna play basketball.” Sam waved his hand saying no and he then quickly shoved in the pocket of his jeans when he noticed that he should not refuse so directly with such a reason.
“Fine, I know you will choose the ball over me. Anyways.” Serena turned around and walked away.
“Hey, I don’t mean this!” Sam protested.
“It’s okay, just kidding, see you.” Serena waved and then left with Joanna and Faith.
Serena first went back to the dorm before going out with Joanna and Faith; the moment she got into the room, she put the handbag down on the sofa, and immediately unwrapped the present. She searched for any slip in the paper bag but found none, then she started to unwrapped it. It surprised her when she saw that it was a teddy, a very cutie lovely one. And around the necklace of the teddy was a white slip. Serena smiled and opened it.
Serena!
Um….Merry Christmas. I think this teddy bear is so cute and it’s skin is so tanned, exactly opposite of u!

Serena read the slip and smiled sweetly. She picked up the phone and typed.
Sam,
I love the bear so much! Love you!

Sam replied at once.

Chapter 12
December 2007
Serena reached her cell phone from her pocket, flipped it opened and let out a small laugh.
“What so funny?” Joanna turned to look at her and asked with doubt.
Serena smiled nervously and said, “Nothing, I was laughing at my foolishness, I suddenly forgot how to use the phone. HA. HA”
“Weirdo.”
Serena once again turned to her cell, and this time she did not laugh out, she smiled at the text message she got.

Sam ^^
Thought it was just a simple message, but Serena felt so sweet, soooo sweet.
“Let’s go eat something?” Joanna suggested.
“What about Burger King?” Faith added.
“Sure, that will be great.” Serena agreed.
Joanna teased, “I though the text message from whomever it was can have you full.”
Serena shot her a glare.

“What do you guys wanna eat? I’ll go and order.” Serena asked as she was taking out her wallet.
“We want French fried, chicken wings, 2 chesses burger with extra onion, um….ice-creams. Oh yeah, two 1000ml coke. Thanks.” Faith replied as she handed Serena the money.
“Ok. I’ll be right back.” Serena walked away then.
“Ha-ha! I dare you!” Joanna laughed.
“What are you guys laughing about?” Serena asked as she put the tray down.
“We are playing truth or dare.” Joanna explained.
“Oh, that’s cool.” Serena placed the changes on the table and grabbed the coke.
“Hey, Serena, I wanna dare you something.” Faith asked with her eyes were twinkling.
“Right, what you wanna dare?” Serena, seeing the facial expression of Faith, she knew she was not going to ask something normal.
“I dare you….I dare you love Sam.” Faith said.
Serena did not say anything at first, but later on, she said, “I double dare you are wrong.”
Even though Serena knew that she did feel for Sam, she just could not admit it. She knew perfectly clear that she was lying to her friends, but she tried hard to cover the trail. Somehow, Serena was not even sure whether she was in love with Sam or not. She just liked to be with him. She felt very happy whenever Sam called her or looked for her whenever he feels bored, he would think of her, she would be in his mind. They chatted on the msn and then on phone, even though, it’s just for a while, but it’s enough already. When people ask about Sam and Serena, she did not even know whether she was lying or telling the truth, because she did not know either.
January 2008
4th January, 2008
“Hey! Sam! Lunch with me. Don’t be late!” Serena said with her eyes sparkling. Sam’s eyes stayed with hers, he could not take them off her.
“Don’t worry; I will come in a minute.” Smiled Sam replied, he broke the eye contact and walked to the meeting room.
Serena went to the Chinese restaurant which was a few blocks away.
Chinese, that’s what they both loved to eat.
“Good afternoon, may I help you, miss?” The waiter greeted.
“Can I have a table for two, please?”
The waiter smiled, and then he showed Serena the table right next to the window.
After a while, Sam entered the restaurant and walked to Serena; he smiled at her and sat down and picked up the menu.
Serena studied him for a while; she took a deep breath and asked, “Hey, got a question for you.”
Sam replied, “Shoot”, still working hard on the menu to see what he should order.
Man, he’s starving.
Serena licked her lips and finally started, “There’re rumors about me feeling for you, you believe that?” her face blushed when saying all those words. It just did not feel too right to ask a guy this kind of question. And she hoped she did make a right decision.
Sam’s head snapped up and he stopped looking at the menu, he replied without delay, “Ok, random. What’s that all about?”
Serena’s cheeks were suddenly on fire, but as she started the topic already, so she answered, “Well, I’m just curious, you know?” she stared down at the table, feeling really awkward. She wished she could leave right now.
Sam thought for a second and then replied, “Um….maybe.” He looked back at the menu, trying not to meet her eyes.
Confused Serena asked, “What does that mean?” she looked up from the table.
Sam sighed and put down the menu; he ran his hand across his head and replied, “Well, I don’t know how to tell you.”
Serena kept asking, she really wanted to know the answer, “Tell me what you think. Besides, it’s just a simple yes or no question.”
Sam honestly did not know how to answer, he wanted to say yes, but he was scared, but if he said no, maybe he would hurt Serena.
“It’s not like that.” Sam said. Serena frowned, what he said just did not make any sense.
There was a pause then Serena asked, “Will you be a two-timer?”
Sam was so surprised and asked, “Wow, no I won’t. Do I like that type of person ?”
Serena said immediately, trying to be curious, “No, no, nothing, just curious. Duh, why I gotta be the one who loves you? Why can’t you be the one? Do you love me?” Serena said, not completely serious, she was trying to ease the atmosphere, actually for herself.
At the moment Sam heard that, he was petrified; he had no idea what to say.
“Wow, what do you want me to say?” Sam stretched his head.
Serena said in a very serious voice, “The truth.”
Serena totally caught Sam off guard, he ran his finger through his hair and said, “Ah…, it’s not that easy to say yes or no. What answer do you want?”
Serena sighed, “Never mind what answer I want, I just wanna know whether or not you have felt for me. C’mon, tell me. It doesn’t matter what the answer will be.”
After hearing that, Sam was in so much confident, he knew what answer Serena wanted and no way would he hurt her, not a chance.
“Well, then I guess I know which answer you want. But I can’t tell you exactly, because I got to make sure of something first.” Sam teased and was laughing to himself.
Serena was totally lost; she asked, “What’s that?”
Sam looked at Serena, could not help but smiling.
“You know, if just one person has feeling, it may not be accurate.”
Serena got the meaning behind, she asked, “Do you mean you gotta know whether I feel the same too?”
A smirk danced on Serena’s lip. I really set a trap for myself this time.” Serena thought.
“Wow, bingo!” Sam said joyfully.
Serena thought for a second and answered, “Then I’m telling you, I do feel for you.”
Sam grinned, and the adorable dimples appeared, it was gorgeous. “I do have a crush on you.” He admitted.
After hearing that, Serena was extremely excited. “Oh my gosh! Is that true?”
“Do you want it to be true?” Sam chuckled.
“I wanna hear it from you.” Serena grinned.
“Yeah, it’s true, and I’m a little bit late to notice that, but I sure notice you do feel the same as me.” Sam explained.
“Oh, anyways, before the others asked you, have you ever thought of whether you love me or not?” Serena asked, knowing there was nothing she could not ask anymore.
“Well, actually, I started to think after they asked me, they’ve been gossiping about that for months, it’s just you didn’t know.”
After that, Sam told Serena everything, every single thing that their friends had been asking. Serena was so surprised.
“Oh really?” asked Serena.
“Yeah” Sam confirmed.
Silence claimed, both of them did not speak for a while.
“Hey, promise me something.” Serena said suddenly.
Sam looked at her, surprised, “Anything.”
Serena took a deep breath and began, “Don’t tell me you don’t love me until we have to separate because I don’t wanna take this shock, I really mean what I said.”
Sam’s eyes locked with Serena and said, “Promise!” and he lead forward and pressed his lips on hers. Her lips parted and his tongue searched for her mouth. Serena was drowning to him. In a moment he pulled away. Slowly Serena opened her eyes.
Sam had kissed her.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.” Sam said, his voice was husky as his azure eyes bored into hers.

I will not be a two-timer, no matter what others do, I don’t care. There won’t be any third person exist as well, I just want you to believe me!

Sam: so what’s up with that Sandy-gal? She is still a pain in the ass, annoying you???
Serena: Why you seem to care so much about her?
Sam: I care you most.

Serena: Are u studying?
Sam: I don’t have the mood
Serena: don't study then, study tomorrow morning
Sam: I'm thinking of u
Serena: why
Sam: duno
Serena: Oh My Gosh~ you are trying to make me happy right? :P
Sam: ‘m not, that's the most honest truth
Serena: I love you
Sam: I always do
Sam was really glad that he could show all his feeling to Serena, all the time he wanted to do that, but he just did not, because he knew he could not really when they were not dating. But it was really good to do that, let Serena knew how much he loved her and this and that. It was just awesome.
